The Rusty Mackerel

The Rusty Mackerel is a traditional Irish pub offering fine ales and wine in a friendly environment. Being the closest pub to the Slieve League Cliffs, in County Donegal, it attracts many tourists in the summer months.

Situated at the foot of Slieve League, known as the highest sea cliffs in Europe, on the South west coast of Donegal, The Rusty Mackerel Pub is a must stop for visitors and locals alike.

The Rusty Mackerel was established in 1892 and has been a previous winner of the won Donegal, Hotel, Restaurant and Pub Award for the traditional pub of the year. Traditional music nights are commonplace.

The management and staff at The Rusty Mackerel are happy to help with any general enquiries about this beautiful area as there are short drives with some spectacular scenic vistas.
